Group Description
Hawaiian Genealogy Society began in 1996. It was changed to Hawaiian Genealogical Society after it was found that our great great grandmother named Princess Poomaikelani headed the Hawaiian Genealogical Society in the times of King David Kalakaua.
Our Meetings occur informally. Most of the members are Kamehameha descendants, Royal family members or heirs of Sovereigns of Hawaii attended meetings held at various Public Libraries.
This Society is part of the Hawaiian Kingdom/Kingdom of Hawaii/Ko Hawaii Pae Aina/He Mokupuni Pae Aina o Hawaii/Hawaii/Hawaiian Islands/ Hawaiian archipelago/Sandwich Islands/ Hawaii.
This Society maintains genealogy documentation of the Royal families genealogies, history, etc.
We are one of the entity State of Hawaii now known as the illegal entity claiming lands, etc. that does Not belong to them, recognized as one of the 13 repatriated groups, granted recognition for ancestral burials including the kaai- burial basketry which holds remains of alii nui/high chiefs of Hawaii, our ancient 1,650+ year old society based on genealogies.
Representative, Amelia Kuulei Gora is descendant of Kalaniopuu (Alii Nui during the time of Captain James Cook), Kamehameha thru daughter Kanekapolei, through sons Kaoleioku, Kalanihelemaiiluna Paki, Kauikeaouli-Kamehameha III, and Kanakaole.
Amelia Gora is a descendant of Kaumualii (Alii Nui of Kauai) thru two (2) of his children named Kinoiki (w) and Haupu/Kahekili.
Amelia Gora is a descendant of John Young, and Isaac Davis who were Kamehameha's councilors through Hueu Davis and Peke Davis. They were also adopted by their grandfather John Young, and Kamehameha.
Kamehameha III - Kauikeaouli also adopted his true cousins - Hueu Davis, Peke Davis, and Kale Davis, who became his siblings when his father adopted them.
Amelia Gora is also a descendant of Nuuanu, Akahi (w), Mataio Kekuanaoa, John Kapena , et.als.
Amelia Gora's great grandfather -grandson of Nuuanu named Kaluakini was also a hanai/adopted father of Queen Kapiolani - granddaughter of Kaumualii, was married to King Kalakaua, brother of Queen Liliuokalani, wrongfully dethroned in 1893 with present day, ongoing issues.
Queen Liliuokalani under the name of Kaeha claimed Kahakuhaakoi/Kaaumoana/Kekua/Kekualoa and Kapooloku/ Kapoolohu/Abigaila/Poomaikelani/Princess Poomaikelani - granddaughter of Kaumualii to be her hanai or adopted daughters, ancestors of Amelia Gora, et. als.
Through 40+ years of Archives, Bureau of Conveyances - Libraries, aged books,"hands on" research verifies the oral genealogies,history, etc. of our families. (40+ history, 30+ genealogy, 20+ legal research.)
The Society was pulled together based on the question: Do you have genocide stories of your families having to run and hide(beaten etc.), thrown on Kalaupapa, etc. due to sugar planters/others, etc.?

CLAIMING YOUR ANCESTORS LANDS --- ALLODIAL ISSUES.....

This message is being sent again because the EXHIBIT section was not covered.
The legal documents should contain the following in the following order:
1) Cover page (covers ancestors name, RP/Royal Patent Number, LCA/ Land Commission Award number
2) Affidavit/Certification (family genealogies)
3) Heirs and Assigns page
4) EXHIBITS (Write EXHIBITS in top right hand corner):
a. RP/Royal Patent LCA/Land Commission Award brief history (shows names of deceased owners and successors)
b. Survey Notes (obtain from the Archives, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii) which shows the map, dimensions of the land(s). (ask the Archivist how to obtain your survey notes..... also ask how to look at the books available documenting awards from the Great Mahele/ Kamehameha III period, an extra step to take is to find out the testimonies in regards to the parcel(s)/lands belonging to your families.
5) JURAT, NOTARY page
6) Xerox two (2) or more sets. The notary usually wants to do only two (2) for a set. If more copies are needed for family members, you could make copies after the notary signs the documents, and even after the filing is completed.
7) obtain a notary signature from your Credit Union, bank --- First Hawaiian Bank has a preferred customer account that you may be able to qualify for......worth it because the cost of a Notary will be nothing/free..........at the Credit Unions and some banks also give free notary signature......cousin paid about $50 a couple of weeks ago ---$5 per notary signature.
8) take the two (2) sets of documents to the Bureau of Conveyances, Regular System section and pay $25 for a set which covers up to 20 pages. Any amount of pages over 20 will cost $1 per page.
9) The Bureau of Conveyances located on Punchbowl Street is open in the mornings till 3:30 p.m. They do not accept documents later than that time. (Mondays-Fridays (Holidays closed)).
